blsjnlsbalwivbalv: Reviews

I had this tape for a little while, but I traded it for something that I didn't need. Come back to me little cassette! I thought it was odd and noisy while I had it, but I've come to admire noisy music since I traded the ape. I remember saying "If I had a four-track and an organic mental illness I'd be in the house!"

Completed in January 1998, just before Reuben Vinal headed off to college in South Dakota, blsjnlsbalwivbalv (random typewriting is a recurrent motif in the Piz galaxy) captures the band at the height of its twisted, ridiculous powers. Not only do you get a few dozen new studio recordings, but also a bunch of live cuts and some choice covers, including Metallica's "Enter Sandman," "Rocky Raccoon" by The Beatles, Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus. Altogether, it's 59 tracks of unadulterated oddness, and if you listen to the whole thing through, you'll either be driven crazy or were nuts to begin with. So have at it and I'll see you in the rubber room.

interesting album with too many songs to count (66). listen to the good new bonus type tracks such as "evil plus four" and "the squonk." side two is loaded with "cover" songs that can easily be linked to bad memories of radio listening.
